Water Meter Management - Exchanging and Removing
The InfiniteGIS Water Meter Asset Management system makes it easy to perform water meter and register transactions. When a unit needs to be installed, exchanged, or removed, the water meter form is used to record the transaction. The water meter form is accessed from a water meter point in the map or from within the water meter asset management reports.
Navigate to the water meter point in the InfiniteGIS web map and click the Details button in the map popup to open the water meter form. If no water meter or register is currently installed, click the Install button. A popup window will appear with the Date Installed and Installed By boxes pre-populated with the current date and user. Next select a unit to install and enter in the manual and trace readings if desired. Click Save and the new water meter or register will be installed at that water meter point. Additionally, the Installation Dates section of the form will be automatically updated. NOTE: Only units with the status of "In Stock" will appear in the list of available units.
In the water meter form, click the Remove button to remove the unit from the water meter point. When removing, a popup window will appear with the Date Removed and Removed By pre-populated with the current date and user. Click the Save button to complete the transaction. The Installation Dates section of the form will now show a blank value. NOTE: When a water meter or register is removed, the status of the unit is changed to “Repair”.
When a water meter or a register is being exchanged with a new one, simply click the Exchange button in the water meter form. The Exchange button performs the actions of the Remove button followed by the actions of the Install button in one step. The status of the unit being removed will changed to "Repair" and the status of the unit being installed will change to "Installed".
